Power gains are anything from 10-30% over standard, prices for mechanical tune are utterly dependant upon the type of vehicle/fuel system but the MINIMUM price would be £125.00 + VAT. A mechanical tune can sometimes be incorporated into the rebuild of your injection components, which be more cost effective as the tune can be carried out during the calibration.

By far and away the 'best' option for a smooth tune that delivers power and torque in the correct and safest manner is provided by an ECU remap, an ECU remap also delviers the best results in terms of economy gains, so for a grown up and professional tine of your diesel an ECU remap is the only option.
ECU remapping is also regarded as 'chipping' and 'ECU flashing', however........ beware........
As with pretty much everything , there is good and bad ECU remapping.
Poor, usually those cheap, cheap, cheap, remaps can cause big problems such as clutch failure, engine issues and even damage to diesel injection components.
In the days when we carried out ECU remapping we sampled and tried many different brands of 'ECU remapping' via many different remapping systems and only one system delivered consistant results with excellent reliability.

So, in our opinion, ECU remapping is the only proper way to tune the modern diesel, this leave out 'tuning boxes' and 'piggy back modules'.
The only benefit of tuning boxes and modules is that they can be removed from the vehicle with relative ease, the results they provide pale in comparison to an ECU remap, power, torque and economy results can NEVER match that of an ECU remap so if you want the best for your diesel, tuning boxes/modules need to be crossed off the list.
Tuning boxes/modules once upon a time where designed, built, tested and supplied from Germany, Sweden, The Netherlands and Switzerland but as per usual, our friends in the Far East have now begun mixing the building of tuning boxes/modules with those top quality items you can buy at 'penny shops' and 'penny land' so to say the quality has slipped would be an understatement!!
A poorly built/incorrectly assembled electrical item can cause damage, expensive damage normally, maybe not the moment it's fitted but give it a few thousand miles and the story can change.
When we first opened we did offer tuning boxes and the results varied, from quite good to utterly disastrous!!
Shortly after we supplied tuning boxes we moved straight to ECU remapping and all our remaining tuning box stock went straight in the recycling bin!
